In the mid 1980's Shaaron wrote a book which sold 30,000
copies in newsagents and magazine stores, called The Mother
and Baby Book. It was a fine-detailed ideas book on how
to communicate, play, and enjoy very young children, in the
first six years, taking each age at a time. Often young mothers
today lack the experience and pleasure of how to play and
understand their babies and toddlers, and so miss out on what
is possible - how to read the signs, and stimulate and extend
their babies, rather than just leaving them be, or opting
for pressured 'early learning' approaches which just stress
mother and child.
Reprinted with additional material for fathers, and more
help with toddler discipline and other practical aspects,
and with powerful parenthood stories by sportswriter Martin
Flanagan, the new volume is we believe the best book for seeing
the first six years in a perspective as a glorious and precious
time full of good things to do.
Love Laughter and Parenting is sometimes hard to get,
as it's a big format book with lots of pictures.
Australian bookshops usually carry it, or can order it in
a few days. It's in most European languages.
It's also usually in many Australian and UK libraries - so
you can borrow it. LONG LIVE LIBRARIES !
